Default vtech/ECU problem??

I bought this 98 civic ex with a couple of mods like a month ago. The vtech kicks in at about 4800 rpm, until lately. I just drove my car like any other day and the vtech stops kicking in and my rev limiter is decreased from about 9000 to 7000 rpm.. anyone have any clue whats going on.. I'm obviously still novice at this [&:]

Appreciate it

Umm... first of all, welcome to HCF. And second, why in the world would you know what your car does @ 9000 rpm? The D16Y8 makes max Hp @ 6600.

its bad enough that you spelled it V-TECH, but its also in your screenname... thats kinda funny.

How long have you had this swap? If you havent had it very long then talk to whoever installed the motor for you, chances are that they screwed it up. If you have had it for a while then it could be many problems...

yea dude..too bad you spelled vtec wrong, but thats alright. But yea man I have the same exact problem with my car right now..same engine also. Pretty messed up cuz i havent figured out what it is yet either. I do know they run extra wires for the vtec. Just swing it by a shop my best guess, i can be considered a bit newbish too hehe. Good luck
