Default eg h/b h22a traction?

iv put a deposit on a 92 h/b wit the h22a swap and was speaking to him on the fone last nite and asked abou handling, he said it handles ok in the dry but in the wet its all ovr the place. its been lowered 80mm on coilover springs and standard shocks with 17's.strut bars all round. not sure wot tyres hes running. is ther anything you would do differently to make it handle better or is this kinda swap only gd for goin in a straight line?

The H22 is a fair amount heavier than say a B16 that was designed to go in there so yes handling wont be as sharp, but having said that I think your problem is to do with the suspension set up.
Lowered 80mm on standard shocks with 17's just makes me cringe. that is absolutely awful and he should be ashamed. even if he had proper coilovers and matched dampers to get it that low it also needs a camber kit, And even then its still to low.
If you buy it get those nasty springs off, or at the very least raise it back up to a 40mm drop and it should handle ok but if it was mine I would definately splash out on some decent suspension and probably smaller wheels.

when it comes to coilovers is it worth while splashing out or would say £500 still get a half decent set? when i get it is ther any way of telling exactly how much he's lowered it by so i cn take it back to a 40mm drop? i cant wait to get it but dreading driving to work everyday in the wet if it handles like a tank
