My friend bought a dx civic that had a b16a motor partially installed. Now it runs but idles up and down. Also the V-tec dosn't kick in. What do he need. He also said he needs a new speed sensor. does anyone know which one?

 

idle goes up and down - check for vacuum leaks, or iacv could be dirty.

vtec doesn't kick in - is the vtec wired correctly?

speed sensor - any vehicle speed sensor from 92-00 civic and 94-01 integra will work.
