Default In Japan, what engine and parts should I look for?

Currently stationed in Japan. I have a 98 Civic EX 2dr back in the states. What engine and parts should I be on the look out for? Trying to get rid of the SOHC and go big... or what ever my wallet can handle. Also, rims are extremely cheap over here. Do Japanesse civics have the same rotors as US SPEC? I heard that the stud width might be different.

Appreciate any help.
