Default Blowin smoke.... Help?

Hey, I'm runnin a 97 dx coupe, when I rev above like 3-3500 rpm she 's blowin some black smoke. Any ideas? I just poured in some Lucas fuel injector cleaner. We'll see how that goes. Anyone else ever get that problem?

usually black/grey smoke means you are running rich ( burning more fuel)
blue smoke = burning oil

That's what I figured, the gas mileage hasn't been that great, any solutions?

If the car is all stock parts, also change the air filter as a general tune-up measure. Is the check engine light on?

Ya I changed the air filter from an old Fram, to a new K&N, replaced the spark plugs, old Bosch Platinums, to new NGK V-power. There was a new Oxygen sensor put in when the guy I bought it from did the safety on it. There is an after m,arket fuel rail, and plug wires on it, other than that it's pretty well stock.

Check your fuel pressure, maybe that aftermarket rail and regulator isn't working.
