hey i just got a 94 civic dx and it looks nice on the outside but all i have is a d16 stock motor nothing special, i was wondering if theres any way i can build it up so i can keep up, i dont have too much money im only 16 ive seen a couple people with the same motor that have built up but nobody has given me any advice any suggestions ?

 

building an engine costs $$$$$$ , you need to decide and let us know how much power you want and how much you have to spend, also how will you be getting this work done.

 

actually i just talked to someone and they are selling me just the engine of a b16 dohc vtec and i can use my original everything else until i can get some money so i guess that works out right?

 

nothing from your d15 will fit on the b16

 

well sadly ur opinion is completely wrong. A build D series costs a tone of money, not even worth it. The most hp u will see is about 200hp. A turbo B series motor will easily beat that with low boost on any turbo. The cheapest way to make real power would be to boost the D series motor u have

 

N/A D Series = Completely Worthless unless you have bishimoto in your name lmao.

OP at 16 im guessing your talking about other civics that are "built" being probably an EX with like 15 more hp than you and having a fart can..... they aren't built

Unless you turbo your engine your not gonna get any decent numbers for anywhere near a decent price.

And a quality turbo kit isn't going to be on eBay for 500$, stay away from eBay kits.....

Just get some research done, save up some money and in a couple years if you havent wrecked your car you can start your main build /jinx
