Default Building a LS/Vtec Turbo motor

i am looking into buildin a LS/Vtec Turbo for my Eg ferio and i wanted to know if any one knows about how much it will cost to resleeve/rebore the block to about 2.0L or 2.2L. cause i am looking to use it for circuit racing and need that displacement for low end power. (i don't want to use a B20 block had a couple bad experiences with those blocks before.)

If you're going for a full build, boost setup, and a mint tune, I'd set aside about 6 grand

dream on, $6,000 will not touch a full(correct) build, full turbo setup to exploit the build, and a couple full tuning sessions.

well considering the sleeves will go for around 550~ ish shipped to you.. then add time into the enormous amount of machining to put the sleeves in, ( iwas quoted at over 1K for machine work and final bore and honeing) then add the amount of money for rods and pistons and everything else involved with it your goin to be around 23-2500 area to have it done right. and then to add the price for a turbo kit or piecing together a turbo kit will add the price to around 2000 for the turbo kit alone if u get good brand name stuff.

add stronger axels which is a good idea, about 1000
add engine management which can be between 500-1500 once again for brand name stuff

then dyno time.... varies between 100-150/hr of dyno time.

so i'de start saving b/c im building a sleeved b16 and its goin on the back burner for a while b/c its costly and takes time to have work done right

^^ your numbersare way off.

you can find places that will sleeve the block and turn it around in 2-3 weeks for 1k (and this is for AEBS sleeves...no BS race sleeves)

if you shop for your bottom end right you can get good parts for way cheaper than 2k. ive seen eagle H-beams on forum classifieds for 150 bucks...hell you can get them new for $315 on ebay, and you can get a set of SRP pistons for 650 bucks. if you're looking to pay 23-25 hundred for internals you need to shop around a lot more.

turbo kit for 2000? i suppose you havnt checked out petes grocery list

most dyno places start between 50-75 bucks an hour.

you can get axles rated to 400hp for 215 bucks

and if you're wondering...i found all of these in about 10 minutes of shopping.

That turbo list isnt going to be good for his application. Hes going to want a much bigger turbo and etc etc........a custom kit to fit his needs will be more$. The tuning aspect will also be much more than $75 AN HR because hes going to need ECU chipping and socketing. Also, GOOD tuners dont charge by the hour.......they charge for the service. For example. 700$ will get u a full Jeff Evans tune with Neptune....that includes the tune itself and the computer program......fully built motors done right are $$$$. Id say you could spend 10,000 plus.

Well my buddies eclipse has $15K+ in the build and turbo setup as of now and is not even done nor is it tuned, also to ready the car to handle this kinda power will take a good amount of money also. On a real build making real power you dont cheap out, if money is a concern you need not even start a build like this IMO.
