a/c problems

when i turn on my ac it clicks on but 2 or 3 seconds later it stops and then it clicks on and it keeps on i check the free on level and its good nothing seems wrong no leaks i check the fuse and everything is good can any one help oh! its a 99 civic si if it makes a difference

Did you recently add refrigerant to the system? If so, it may be overfilled. Check the refrigerant pressures on the low and high sides using manifold gauges.
