I was interested in what some of my options are as far as swapping my oem cam for something that may possibly give me a little more power. I have some minor upgrades on my 2002 Civic lx.C.A.I,headers,Magnaflow exhaust.Any help would be much appreciated.

 

Not sure of which cam is available, if any, but your engine is one of the worst Honda engines out there for modding. You won't be able to make much more power without forced induction.

 

Yeah I dont think the D17 has any cam options out there. I feel your pain I have a Y5 no cams for it either. Boossst it, I had a buddy with a 02 Ex with a custom turbo kit. The thing pulled like a beast!

 

Thanks for that anyways. I wasnt really sure if I had any options at all,obviously I'm pretty new to this,it all started trying to get a little better gas mileage and ended up becoming a very addicting,wallet emptying disease, but I love it.

 

Yeah thanks,I hear you can use the d17a2 vtec head on d17a1 block and then get different cams.Then of course it boils down to just deciding on how much to dump into this project or save for k20.

 

Just the Vtec mini me swap will be a great head and cam upgrade. The Vtec heads flow better than their non Vtec counter parts.
