cam question!!!
If youre looking for some speed, thats some-what cheap, you might want to look at adding some more to the engine. I know you said you didnt want to do much to the internals (pistons and such), but it wont be too much money, plus youll already have the engine apart to put in the new cams. New retainers, camshafts, pistons, and valve springs will run you about 1000 dollars, and if you dont want to go into forced induction, are a good bang for your buck. Theyll also help you get those 14's youre looking for. Just thought you might want to reconsider the internals.
thanks bro the reason i dont really want to mess with the internals is because i need my car and i would do the work...well me and my brother would...but i know exactly what u mean and i agree its not alot of money and i know f/i is the best bang for my buck but i dont want to put too much strain on my engine and blow the rings or even worse a rod and it is expensive when it is all said and done but i probally will take your advice and do some more to the internals and thanks soo much for the advice...ut on the camshaft...well i dont know what all that means...lift and all...and which one i should get along with other internals like springs and stuff thanks!!!
My personal allegiance is to Skunk2. You can get stage 2 camshafts from them, retainers, valve springs, and the cam gears. And like I said, for all of this brand new, about a thousand bucks.

everthing ive read by cam manufacturers suggest, some say must, upgrade your valves, retainers and springs. i recently purchased all of these. i bought skunk2 on all the valve parts was informed that skunk2 for some unknown reason, the lobes on their cams have a tendency to start going flat...
