Civic RPM problems
Ok, here's the story, kind of long so bare with me and I'll appreciate any help I can get. I have a 95 civic with a d16z6, i just had the head rebuilt with new valves put in it. I was told one of the valves may need to be adjusted, but other than that everything was fine. A while back, my timing belt slipped off and luckily the only thing that happened was that 2 exhaust valves were bent in one cylinder. After a new belt was put on the car started fine, but idled a little weird and the redline was different. Since I've got it back from having the valves replaced the idle is a little more normal but still not the way it was and the redline is still off. The redline is at about 5100 rpms, where the stock redline is 7200 i think, and the revlimiter is kicking in well before it normally did, like 5800ish. Would the valve that may need to be adjusted be causing this? Are there any other things/problems that would cause this to happen? I'm thinkingthe timing may be off a tooth or there's an ecu problem, but I would like to know any opinions first. Thanks for reading!

RE: Civic RPM problems
hey man thats funny that you asked cause my friend has the same motor in his del sol and his timing belt broke and he split a valve to. and his car feels alot slower since hes got it back im sure its the timing cause what else would it be you know if fixed what ever was wrong with the car then you should check the timing. i'll see what else i can find but so far check the timing

RE: Civic RPM problems
yeah, i was told to check my oil pressure, which i did, and it was low, no lights or anything, but now it's fine and it still is doing it so i'm going to adjust the timing this weekend and hopefully thats the problem. thanks for the help!
