Well lads i've been goin over a few ideas to build my ej2 into a bit more of a performance focused machine ,without swapping for peaky b series power.Turbo conversions are out of my league financially so i'm thinking of keeping my original block as she only has 95k miles on it,and because its my daily driver so i need more torquey effortless power,i considered a mini-me but i've seen one dude who put a high flow fuel filter obx mani and throttle body 4-2-1 exhaust mani decat and cat back and got 138bhp on his b7!!!bare in mind we have 95 octane fuel over here....has anyone done anything like this before ???.I've seen bisimoto cams too and i'm aiming for 140-150 bhp.

Mini-me is the best place to start, that's a gain of 23 BHP right there, putting you up to 125 BHP. Then do intake, header, exhaust, and a stage 1 cam and you should reach your goal. Only use quality parts.

If you don't do the mini-me, you won't get anywhere near your goal without a LOT of money.

Don't decat the car, just get a high-flow catalytic converter. Magnaflow 22636 is what you'd need and it's only $100. You only sacrifice 1WHP compared to a test pipe, and at the same time you are reducing emissions. Also, decatting the car will make your exhaust smell horrible with a strong odor of fuel, and it will sound horrible.

well, I have the magnaflow 22636 just installed and I love it, they are cheaper on ebay but I wanted a warranty (the salt on the roads here in winter kills an exhaust) so I got it here magnaflow 22636 , or you can try one of the vendors here, they are always running sales/specials. either way its a great system and very easy to install. good luck
