Default d16y8 Misfiring

Hey guys, I have some sort of misfire going on with my engine. The car starts fine, doesn't misfire while ideling or anything either. The misfire only happens when I am accelerating. It's just a quick continuous popping sound that I can hear and it just doesn't feel like the engine is....catching...it's hard to explain. It seems as though it has gotten worse over time. It has only been doing it fora few months though. What could be causing this? Maybe I'm not getting enough fuel to a cylinder? What are the main things I should look at without spending a ton of money to replace everything? I am trying to sell the car and I really don't want to pay for a tune-up and would rather just solve this problem. Thanks a lot.

First I wouldrun some sea foam through the engine. If that doesnt work I would change the plugs, wires and cap/rotor......That should do it.If that doesnt work, get a stethoscope and listen to the injectors to see if theyre working.......if that doesnt work maybe its the dizzy.

Thanks a lot pete. What about the fuel filter? Should that be something to look at also? Oh and about the sea foam. What is it, where do I get it, and how do I use it?
