i have a 93 civic....on idle my d16y7 shakes a lot mounts are good and still shake.... head sounds good. but when i give it throttle it sounds like something is clunking heavy...acceleration is bad and exhaust pops....im thinking its the tranny because i had the d15b7, took it out because of bad rings but also had the same other problems..... doesn't sound as fast knocking as if my rod bearings are gone. could it be my transmission solenoid or the whole tranny?

 

You could try putting a stethoscope on the engine and transmission to see if one is louder than the other.

Perhaps do a cylinder leak down test if the engine stethoscope is louder than the tansmission.
