Default engine overheating?!

My engine is overheating real easy at stop lights, espeicially if i have been using the a/c. I have checked the engine cooling fan fuses(cuz i can never seem to hear them come on), and they seem to be in tip top shape. It is really making me paraniod everytime i drive that my car is going to overheat beacuse it has twice already to the point where smoke was coming out of the engine bay.

Could it be also problems with the coolent?!
Can anyone give me any ideas on what could be wrong and why the cooling fans seem not to work when they need too?!!

well first of all check ur radiator it could be thats clogged or maybe ur car is leaking coolant. maybe the radiator itself is not working or the thermostat. just dont let it overheat too much or u can mess up ur engine

Overheating only while the car is sitting still almost has to be the fan not working. Usually it is either the thermo switch or the fan motor causing the fan not to run.

Location of the thermo switch depends on which model year you have. On a 1992 or later, the switch will be on the thermostat housing near the starter. Unplug the switch, jumper the two wires in the plug and turn the key on. The fan should run. If the fan runs with the switch jumped, replace the thermo switch. If not, unplug the fan and connect it with wires to a battery. If the fan still doesn't run then, the motor is bad.
