How did you set the crank to TDC1 without the pulley mark?

i went by the insert pin thats wat i was told to do

you don't need marks on the pulley to set the crank/cam timing. Just align the mark on the oil pump to the mark on the oil pump gear.

Without the crank pulley mark, you need to remove the crank pulley, turn the crank counterclockwise until the cam is at TDC1 and then check whether the crank is also at TDC1 (pointer on oil pump aligns with the mark on the crank gear=TDC1).

Your mechanical timing is off. You need to set the TDC1 timing of the crank gear as shown in the diagram above. You need to align the pointer with the groove in the crank gear not with the key. Close is just not good enough for the mechanical timing.
