I'm looking to boost up my compression. I have a d16y7 I/H. That's it. I have a y8 head waiting for a swap in the near(hopefully) future. Dont plan on turbo. My questions is, what are some DIY ways (with minor engine experience, but I can always get help from my dad) I can boost my compression? I know of a thinner head gasket and different pistons. But what pistons and what else?

Should I check my cylinder compression before doing any of this?

Will higher compression make much of a difference in my power?
