HELP!! Heater PROBLEMS.
#11
well ill try to help ya out a bit...
at least with the heater unit.... after the motor is warmed up and the temp selector on the gauges is set to the red HOT. and then feel BOTH the heater hoses right next to the firewall in the engine bay... and if you feel that both hoses are HOT/WARM then you should have heat and nothing is blocking the heater core.
if both hoses are not hot then either your heater valve is closed or stuck OR posibly the slide linkage is busted or just poped off...
simply have a friend get inside the car and move the heater temp slide back and forth with you under the hood looking at the heater valve under the hood and ensure that the cable is moving on the valve hook.
if the cable/linkage is not moving then hop under your dash and look at the linkage there and ensure that wire is moving back and forth also with the heater slide... the linkages black outter shield is held in by a metal snap and the internal wire just hooks over another linkage that moves it back and forth.
if that linkage does not move then either the cable linkage is either busted or broke off the heater controls slide arm.
and if you STILL dont have heat and everything moves that you can see THEN the internal flaps MIGHT be busted and the internal flap is staying CLOSED over the heater core not allowing air to go thru it to get hot air.... i broke my linkage rod and had to replace the flap and linkage.
and this flap is what covers the heater core so when you want cold air it blocks off the heat
tho MOST LIKELY your internal flaps are fine... its probably just the linkages poped off or broke.... it happens its just normal wear and tear.

remember not all mechanics are telling you the truth or they just make up something!

its in between the middle and cold...
but just the other day when i did the flush and i emptied all the antifreeze from the car and turned it on for a while the temperature went to max on high..untill the coolant finally started to flow correctly..then the temp went back to normal.so.i dont know if it can still be the thermostat..do you think?
my step father told me today that it can be the thermostat..so idk...its only like 5 bucks anyways...might as well

well i went back to the mechanic again to have him check it out AGAIN. and he told me he put the machine on it and he told me that i needed to replace the water pump because its not circulating right. and he also told me thats why my CEL keep coming on and thats why my idling is fuked up too...and he's charging me almost 200.00 dollars. do you guys think it can be the water pump..or is this another thing that mechanics say???

no telling but if your paying him to replace the water pump then go ahead and give him a new timing belt for the car since he will have it off already. its just cheap insurance for the motor while its torn apart anyways.
