Default Help, think i have a engine problem!?

Why is it that when I shift into a higher gear it feels like my car is getting really slugesh, its a 95 vtec and when the vtec should be engaging its feels like its not putting out enough power..What can it be? Ive just gotten a major tune up(fuel injector cleaned, fuel lines were cleaned, new spark plugs, disturbuter, disturbuter wires, oil changed and oil filter replaced) what can it be, could it have something to do with my Vtec solenoid ? Any help would greatly be appreciated!!

well it is a single cam vtec, so when vtec hits it wont be a jolt or real gain of any kind. also, when are you shifting ?

When was the last time you changed your fuel filter? I know on my 95 Dx it was way past due and my car was really sluggest and after changing it most of my power loss on hills came back and I was getting a little bit better gas mileage.

I shift around 6500rpms are so, and i also just got a major tune up, everything from the fuel lines, fuel injector, spark plugs...its a single cam d16z6 i have no clue what it could be and its just driving me crazy, could it have anything to do with the Vtec solenoid ? and if so how could I check it, I heard about a way with a DMM but I have no clue on how to do it??

I have a l.e.d. light hooked into mine, it should kick in at 5000
on the solinoid look for the green & yellow wire splice into it &
just ground the other wire from the l.e.d. if the solinoid works it will light up!
On the sohc you really can't feel the v-tech but it's worth a shot.

if it is sinle cam you will barely feel the vtec.... in my del sol mine started getting sluggish and i replaced the vtec solenoid and spark plugs and it ran awesome... also your vtec doesnt kick in until 5200rpm so maybe your shifting to early also
