how much boost on stock zc

RE: how much boost on stock zc
usually when running on stock internals you dont really want to go over 8 PSI, you've gotta figure each PSI gives u approx 6-8 horsepower (average) so youre lookin at the ability to run 8 psi safely with no worries, and ur gaining about 64 extra ponies. correct me if im wrong.

dont forget decent fuel managment. 7psi+lean conditions=disastor. here at the local dyno ive seen one dohc zc put down 212whp @ 14psi stock internals. 3 months later and the car is still running. he has converted to obd1 and is using uberdata. To help us all help you with this question, we need to know what motor and what mods are done or planned to do for your motor. Then we need to know what turbo you are running or plan on running. Every turbo puts out a different amount of CFM's at the same psi. In addition, a car which has better flow in general (i/e head port/polish, high flow manifold, throttle body, free exhaust, etc), and more compression will make more power on less psi as well.

Well, most bolt-on kits (like the Greddy) come with FMU's now, so you've got no worries there. But the ZC rods are said to hold up to between 200 and 210 atw. Internals are so ridiculously cheap for them that you're often better off just doing a full build it BEFORE you slap the FI on. Then you can spread the redline out (I had my last one at 8,500), get the engine balanced correctly, and be much happier in the long run.
