I agree You will be better off with a zc but my favorite choice for you would be to go with a b18a or b. You can get a b18a ate the juckyard with tranny harness and ecu for around 600 bucks. If you want go to g2ic.com and look for one there. Since the motor is non vtec you will not have to worry about the extra wiring. The b18a also comes in OBD0 so it will be a simple hook up. If you want the extra hp you can add someSi pistons in itbefore you drop it in.

 

ok guys this is a huge help. so i would be better going with the engine to lose a lil hp but pay less and easier assembly.. and to get some hp back just throw in the si pistons.. cux mine is the base dx hatch. i mean i bought it for 1600 the guy threw in 400 custom paint and a mitsubishi turbo.. so ya it was pretty good.

 

I didn't know you were running a turbo. Forget about the si pistons Go for somd turbo te turbo pistons instead. With little modification you could turbo the b18 and youprobably won'teven have to tune a new ecu just use the single cam ecu with it. I am not sure if it will work with obd0 but I know it works on obd1. You will gain more horsepower not loose some. Plus you could always go ls/vtec later on and gain even more hp.

 

ok thats cool now which b18 would a want the newer A or go with the B to get the extra torque and horsepower.. but the turbo pistons. i also just have the turbo do you know of where i could pick up a turbo install kit for a good price?
