i have a 89 hatchback with a d15b2 currently. im doing a few things to beef it up but im looking into a engine swap. can anyone help me with what will mount right up to the stock mounts, and is a easy swap. i dont have alot of funds, so my limit is about 1k. i just want to know what could get at least 200hp to the wheels with only a few mods.

you could possibly find a b18a1 swap for $1000 for everything. would only be about 140whp unless you could get some bolt ons, might bring you up to about 165

i am planning to do most the work myself. i found a b18a1 for 300 plus shipping, should be under 1k, it comes with everything i need. will this motor mount up to stock mounts, and if so is it a decently easy swap?

 

its a straight forward swap, you might need mounts but more than likely not. i know a b18b1 will drop straight into an 92-95 civic without any modifications. should be the same with the b18a1 and a 88-91 civic
