.... that happened to me twice... i was redlining and was running super low on oil.. (idk if the oil had anythin to do with it) but i cracked both my d16 blocks due to hydrolock.

you cant compress liquid, if you did more than likely you would bent the connecting rod into a pretzel

It's almost always a mistery what exactly caused the rod to blow. But it is not revving per se. Your rev limiter triggers at the safe speed with a significant safety cusion, so you don't need to worry about it. However, if you boosted your engine, you ever run it low or no oil, you hydrolocked, etc., etc., it all adds up and finally snaps....

I wanna see the "hole" I completly toasted my engine, and there was a crack in the block, but no hole....and I was at 10 PSI on my D.

I saw one on my turbodiesel Galant. It was not big, but was definitely a hole... It probably depends on how rod broke.

Holes can be made. It just depends on where the rod flies and how large a chunk was left of it.
