Default New 2 civic's, cam gear setting advice???

Im changing out my timing belt, and replacing the stock cam gear with an adjustable one. My civic has 112000 miles on it and every shop is telling me i should change the water pump when i do this........I know imports and i have never seen a water pump needing to be changes at such a low milage, but then again i dont know civics that well so im looking for some veteran civic advice on that, and also I was wanting to know what a safe advancment setting on the cam gear is?

Thanx
-Dave

Adjustable cam gear is just pissing money away unless there's an actual legitimate reason you need it to be adjustable.
