Frankly, I never drove anything with "valves floating" and never heard about this problem within stock rpm range. This might be true for domestic cars, but definitely not for honda

How is your mileage? When did you replace air filter?

if the valves werent closing all the way then your engine would misfire and probably die....if not detonate.

is the smoke black...dark blue...or white?

air filter new mileage 232,000 but everthing i have found even the honda dealer i worked at says a d15b6 did not come in hatch but came in crx hf 1500 so i assume the motor was changed inless my info is wrong. if it has been changed i dont know how many miles on engine engine runs great just smokes and had no hp when motor was new so its very slow compared to my 97 civic

the smoke is blue lots of blue and it does make some noise when it does it

has no one here ever had valves float out? i feel that no one belives what i am saying

i have 78 honda gold wing that will do the same thing at around 9500, as the truck and the car along with anthing else i ever drove that does not have rev limiter

i am not easy on anything i will wind as far as it will either it will float or hit rev limiter one of t 2 or it may blow would not be the first time

You are well below the redline, so forget about floating valves. Since you have a blue smoke, this is oil, and since your compression seems to be not that bad, I would think about valve seals, as the most probable cause.

that was all i wanted was to see if someone would agree with me on valve seals before i did it to see if others thought the same thing
