squeeky noise

Default squeeky noise

theres a squeeky noise when my car is running/idling coming from the driver side right near the firewall, my friend says it might be my altenater... is that right?

Squeaking. Hmm... check your belts. Make sure they are the right tension and not rubbing on anything. Look for excessive wear.

I had squeaky noise coming from the drivers side on my 97 civic and I thought it was belt. I had the belt repaired to the right tension...but then I still had the noise and before I could find what the problem is, my A/C compressor blew out..it just broke into pieces. Check your A/C compressor. (I had to spend around 650 dollars to get it replaced!!)
