swapping valve covers

swapping valve covers
I think I am posting in the wrong section for this but okay here goes.
I just bought a 93 civic it needs plenty of cosmetic work but I am looking to start small, my question is are the valve covers on all eg's compatible? I was at a local junkyard the other day and saw valve cover on 4dr eg dx and wanted to grab it. It looked like it had been painted recently and mine is all faded and worn. But I didn't simply because the oil cap is in a different spot than it is on my 93 ex. So are the swappable? I don't wanna waste my time grabbing one to have it not work out.
And I'm sorry if this is asked almost everyday, I am kinda a lazy *** to search.

You'll have to look at what kind of engine it is. D15 engines and D16 engines can't swap valve covers. I assume that since you have a 93 EX, your oil cap is on the top right corner, and the one you wanted was on the bottom left?

You could paint your old one. It requires a little prep and cleaning, but it's relatively easy to do. Here's a DIY: https://www.hondacivicforum.com/foru...ainting-81040/
