Default what can i do with $1000???

i have a 1995 automatic dx sedan, i've been looking at complete engine swaps and mini me swaps, i would really like to get a b18c and build it up but that seems a little expensive, i could do it but it would probably take a long time to complete it, then i was looking at mini me, a lot cheaper but it doesn't seem like much of an increase in power, so what would you guys suggest, save for a b18c or do a mini me, also what all can be done to a mini me to make it faster?
thanks in advance for any and all help

I would do the mini-me since it's easier and less money. Plus it's a bolt on 25HP (not to mention the VTEC). I plan on doing one myself.

Well, there's a couple different types, but basically it is where you take a non-VTEC block and put aVTEC head on it.In this case it will be a D15B7 (non-VTEC) block with a D16Z6 (VTEC) head.

You mean after you do the mini-me? There are tons of things you can do if you have the time, knowledge, and money. You could build the engine up and install a good turbo setup with a good tuneif you wanted - but not for $1000.

Do you have a header, exhaust, or intake system yet? If not you should definitely start with that. And even if you do those first, they will all work with the mini-me and your current engine, so if you decide to do header/intake/exhaust now, and then the mini-me later, you don't need to go buy a newheader/intake/exhaustbecause it will bolt right up to either head.

I forgot to add - the D series is a lot more reliable than the B series. But of course the B is going to be faster... it's a DOHC.

do a compression test and then we'll know if your engine could handle. I'd get togetehr another $1000 and get a reliable boosted DD. Run a low level of boost, 6-10 PSI at about 200 hp (its all about the hp, not the PSI), on a good tune you'd be good. So! You're halfway to the money, but you need knowledge, which can be obtained at the stickies in the Nitrous, Turbo, Supercharger section
