It should handle a turbo fine on stock internals as long as you keep the boost low. 6-8 psi should be fine (assuming your engine is ready/in good condition). But beware, the reliabililty of the engine goes down when you add a turbo into the mix.

Before you even buy the first thing for a turbo kit, make sure you read and read and read. Just do searches on the forum or google and just read what everyone has to say about everything.

Here's a list of what you'll need. https://www.hondacivicforum.com/m_400322/tm.htm
This will get you started on understanding what components are in a turbo kit, and then just make sure you know what everything does. Then search around and read what people have done, and what is recommended. Just don't buy a no-name turbo kit from eBay. If the priceseems too good to be true, it probably is.

can I have $1000 too? jk

EDIT: forgot to give you the link when I said "here's a list of what you'll need"

mini me is looking a lot better, cheaper, easier, and still decent numbers
in all the articles i've been reading about the mini me, people are using 93 octane,
is this required? or is 83 octane fine to use?

If you are going to do a Mini-me swap and a manual swap why not just swap in a D16Z6, or JDM D15B. when it all comes down to it you would spend about the same if not less for a swap

if you did a complete swap you could buy an engine with the manual transmission attached to it. If you're going to be doing transmission and head, why not just do the whole engine? It's going to be about the same price to swap as it would be to do a tranny swap and mini me, maybe less. JDM D15B has 5hp more than the d16z6, hasa tiny bit more torque, has higher compression, and hasless displacement. Also has the same head as the d16z6, just a different block. The d16z6 will probably be easier to find, but on ebay there are a lot of D15B's selling that have low mileage on them.

A swap to a D16z6 would be a good idea, you get the tranny, a better engine, and a D16z6 is a good engine to boost as a DD. You could do the full swap then take some leftover money and at least get and intake, and the would be a good start.

ok i think i have a plan, tell me what you think,
first do a tranny swap (ex/si tranny?)
second complete d16z6 or jdm d15b swap with I/H/E
third turbo it later on when i have more money
if anyone has anything to add please do
