Default K20A-R (JDM)

I am planning on buying a Honda Civic EX 2001 and am planning on swapping a K20A-R (JDM) engine into the car I was wondering if this engine is a direct bolton or if it will fit on its stock mounts?

You'll need new mounts for it, but it all together is cheap... it requires little alteration and will make your car be absolutely killer on the track if you boost it.

a k series swap is far from cheap, you will need to get the engine which has a high price, then the mounts, axles, and actually get it in and rework a few wiring and other things, custom mount a cable shifter and run the shift cables etc.

well cheaper than putting a jet engine in... My knowledge of engine is from guys at a tuner shop... they'd do the whole swap for 7000 w/6 spd transmission so to me that isnt bad.

Start looking around google or ebay... it would be better to go to a tuner shop in your area and ask them about it, and they'll give you a quote. Your install is going to be over 1000 bucks if you dont know how to do an engine swap (most likely the majority of us on HCF!)... it seems to depend on where you live... some guys have been claiming to drop about 9 grand on their block and install... I got quoted at 7000 for the swap and install and an extra 2000 bucks to strap on a garret t3 turbo kit (which I think is a good deal)....

The block I will put in (if the heavens... or my wife allow) has only about 15,000 miles on it so it most likely had been used pretty hard until they got rid of it. Just watch out for motors from Japan older than 35,000 miles... as a resident of japan I know that engines are driven TO DEATH until emission standards forces a person to change eninges to pass the crazy laws we have there. 35,000 miles seems low for us, but it is hard driving and most likely a car crash that got the engine out of the car.
