"what have you done to your civic today?"
if your car is leaking brake fluid, you should check for a leak. Because if there is a brake leak, a brake failure is soon to follow.
wow I've been busy lately and still have a bunch to take care of.
I've recently replaced my blown cheap t3 turbo with a turbonetics t3 super 60. Had to go buy bolts for the oil feed flange and different bolts for the oil drain flange(my original allen head bolts m8x1.25 didn't fit).
Installed new gaskets for the flanges, shortened the drain line so that it'll drain just from gravity. Picture the old drain line like a small resemblance to a J, how it hooks at the bottom, new line is smooth like a )
Had to cut part of the base to the drain side flange to clear a bolt attached to the compressor of the turbo, otherwise I couldn't get both bolts lined up.
Cleaned all vacuum filters, air filter, replaced oil filter, need to fill car with oil as I had to drain it before I pulled the turbo.
-Installed Vibrant ported and baffled oil cap, to vent to catch can
-Took out battery and the base mount to clear more room to install catch can(will mount it tomorrow)
-I'm using the power wire from amp to engine bay to relocate battery to trunk. I still need a distributor block to connect all power wires near the hood, then mount the block near the fuse holder.
-Have to fix my 12v plug as it falls out because the clip behind that holds it behind the panel either broke or just snapped off.
-After I get everything ready I need to drive to local tuner shop about 10 miles away to get turbo exhaust flange cut off the downpipe and welded as it doesn't line up right now. So I'll be driving with no exhaust for a little bit to get there, hope it's not too loud...
-And of course when I'm done and after the rain it needs a wash, badly.
Car has been out of commission for about 2 weeks now
2nd day update:
-mounted catch can where battery is usually at, connected all pcv hoses from valve cover to can
-mounted distribution block near fuse holder, connected all wires from alternator, fuse box, battery cable to block(will silicone cover to base to prevent dirt/condensation build up)
-cleaned battery and terminal blocks
lots of cutting and some drilling to get everything to fit as good as I wanted, took much longer than it seems
tomorrow I'll mount battery case in trunk, mount battery spill tray inside box(still need to find this as I took it out, for whatever reason, the last time I bought a battery), install battery and connect all wires. Also need to fill up oil...
Day 3 update:
-filled up oil
-mounted battery in trunk, amp fuse, and all wires
-washed
-took car to shop to get downpipe/exhaust flange welded
Exhaust was still smoking oil, even with a new turbo. I told the shop I just put it in, hoping it's just an oil feed line because everything else is good

Debating on selling her or parting her out. I dont have time to fix what is wrong anymore.
She has cost me 3 weeks without a car and with my hectic work and home life I dont have the time or the patience any longer. She has been good to me when she was just a project, but now I need a reliable DD which I will purchase next Friday
Sad to say, but I am getting out of the Honda game... or at least for a little while.

My new DD will be a 2007 Ford Five Hundred, I will be picking that up on 1/9. I may or may not sell the car, simply bc the curiousity and perfectionist in me wants to know exactly what is wrong with it. I know that it could be as simple as a burnt or stuck valve...maybe even time slipped just a little bit (no damage to internals). I know that my piston tops look good from the visibility of the open spark plug holes (shiny, not all gummed up). and compression is still strong at 150,150,150 and 215. Just trying to figure out why I am misfiring heavily. Either way, this takes time that I dont have with 3 children and I am the only one working, and I work 50+ hours a week over an hour and a half from my house.
Put upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends, Cv axle, and a wheel bearing on my 95 as a late christmas present. It thanked me by needing a new snap ring that the dealership can't get in until wednesday.
arghhhh
arghhhh
Finally got my car back
With new turbo, pistons, conservative tune, I'm putting out 290whp @ 22psi, old setup peaked at 285whp @ 22 psi.
What's better though is the quicker spool. Old turbo saw 173whp at 5250 rpm, new setup sees 273whp at the same rpm.
It just feels like if I'm in the right gear the spool is instant, instead of building up to it.
Once I install my painted valve cover I'll post up more pics...
