hi i was wondering if my car has power steering or not. and how would i find out if it is or not

yes i have a 1991 honda civic dx hatchback and it has power steering. so if nobody took if off you should still have it.

Try turning the steering wheel with the car running and then with the car off while parked. If it is easier with the engine on then you do indeed have power steering.

 

how about looking under the hood at the motor and seeing a power steering pump....... (insert facepalm here) ay.....

 

The DX hatchback came with power steering only if it also had automatic transmission. The Si hatchback was only offered in manual transmission, and no power steering. But since Civic parts are readily swapped, the only way to know for sure with a used car is to inspect that particular car.

I thought power steering only came on the 4door sedans...
The Si hatchback was also offered in automatic in Canada I believe, someone verify if they know for certain.
I have seen a few auto DX's running around, I should start checking this out.... I stripped power steering from a sedan, planning on putting it on a hatchback.

 

my dx had ps and it was an auto
my crx si however didnt have ps and was 5spd
