Hello, i have a 2001 Honda Civic Lx. I recently changed my lock actuator because was not locking by the door lock switch. When i completed the replacement i began to notice that i can only lock the door with switch when closed, and when pull on the door handle and pressing the lock down. I can't lock when closed from the outside with my key. Any thoughts, I'm stumped.

 

This is proper operation of the actuator. Try holding the handle open from the outside while pushing the lockrod down - they don't want you to forget your keys.

On another note, how did you remove the wire rod from the outside handle during replacement? I am stuck at this step and would appreciate any tips
