Question 86 civic won't idle

Any info would be appreciated.I recently bought an 86 Civic, and it ran great.Just recently it has developed a problem,it won't idle.It has a manual choke(hand throttle?),and only stays running,if the choke is pulled out to where the engine runs at about 2,000 rpm.Anything under that, it stalls.Help please!

Is the PGM-FI light ON? Regardless, check whether the self diagnosis lamp under the front passenger seat is blinking a code:

I've checked, there is no control unit under the seat. It's a hatchback, could it be located somewhere else?

Unfortunately, I think you have a model that lacks the self diagnosis system. Download the 84-87 manual at the link in my signature. It may have helpful information.

My car used to have the same problem, but I solved it by unplugging the ECU and cleaning the sensors.
