Default About to buy a hatch, but are these problems common on a hatch?

I took a trip to a dealership today and found a 1999 DX Hatch, 95000km or 59030 miles on the odo. He wants $7000 CAD/$6300 USD for it

It looked pretty clean but there are some problems we found with it...

- It was raining the day we took it out for a drive and the car had been sitting out on the lot. We opened the trunk and lifted the liners to look at the spare tire and found a small pool of water
Does anyone else have trunk leakage issues?

-When we took it above 60km/40 miles we noticed a humming sound similiar to an airplane (in the air) or a european tube/train hum (in motion).
Does this sound normal?

Thankyou,

and any tips/advice is welcome

The owners manual for my old 91 DX hatch suggested that I might want to check under the floor mats after a heavy rain to make sure there weren't any leaks or anything. Regardless, have the dealership replace any sort of rubber seals on the trunk lid and fix any leaks. They might try to make you pay for it (they're a dealership and therefore bastards) but make it their responsibility.

As for the "airplane" noise over 60, that's just some NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) and it's typical of smaller cars. Call it road noise or wind noise, it happens to be something that still even afflicts newer Hondas (and other small cars) to a degree.

Also, $6300USD is a pretty good deal. The Kelly Blue Book (kbb.com) says that car should be about $7300 if it's in excellent condition.

when I found water in the spare tire well it turned out to be a bad seal along the back of the wheel well instead of up in the hatch liner.
