Default 93 Hatchback common problems?

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and seriously thinking about purchasing a 93 Civic hatchback that's available through a private seller locally.

I'm mechanically inclined and have had a few family members that have owned Hondas but never had one myself, this will be my first vehicle that's not a truck.

I was just wondering of there are any particular issues that are common to this model/year that I should keep in mind when I go to check out the car tomorrow so that I can negotiate price accordingly. Here's a link to the car I'm looking at, http://jacksonville.craigslist.org/cto/1024182767.html

Any thoughts or suggestions on things to keep an eye out for would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Check out the rear fenders closely as it is a rust zone. Yes, it's from Florida, but check anyway. The suspension bushings are probably all shot, but that's just going to be the same on any older car. Check for 'excessive' burning of oil by pushing the gas and checking if crazy black smoke is everywhere. Good luck.

wow, $2300 is quite a lot for a 93. I would just ask if they would let you bring it to a mechanic to check out the engine and the major components. also if they are the only owner, ask for all the repair receipts.
