Default Aftermarket Tach Suggestions?

Looking to get a tachometer for my 1993 honda Civic DX. I will mount it on the pillar. I would like to have a larger one for better viewing. As far as having a shift-light it doesn't really matter as the engine I have is stock and is in no form for racing at the moment; however, later down the project line here I plan on swapping engines, so it wouldn't hurt if it had one.

I'm looking to keep it under $100 for now - any suggestions?

Also, has anyone had any luck with replacement cluster gauges for the DX of this year? I have seen quite a few that are pretty sweet, but they do not fit the DX (i.e. they have a tach builtin). I have seen a couple for the DX but they are kinda lame.

Thanks!

Mike

Why don't you want an EX cluster with the tach built in? The swap should be direct plug and play. IMO, huge tachs are ugly and unappealing.

Are you 100% positive on that? I have heard conflicting information and I was unsure. That is more than likely what I would want, though I would want to get new reverse LED gauge lights and new trim...not to mention I wasn't really looking forward to running those wires anyway.

IMO, the factory ex cluster will look the best. in my car, the factory tach isnt sufficient for my swap. i think i will have to find an edm or jdm cluster (mega bucks). at least you have the option of cheaply installing a factory tach man. good luck with it.

NO! I had a glowshift Tach when I was in ricer mode and it sucked. The bracket broke so it swayed and I had to send it back TWICE for a replacement because it broke several times. Get an Ex cluster which will be and look 100% better and not rice!

to clarify the the ex/si is direct plug and play that have a built in tach.
all dx/cx/lx/ex/si are all factory wired for it.
