In all the people i have talked to or seen that had civics, i've found mb one person who knew about the HX. I have a 97 Civic HX with the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). It never shifts which is sort of weird but it gets great gas mileage. I was wondering if i wanted to put on say an intake or exhaust would a DX styleor something close to HX work? All the places i have seen for ordering never have the option of HX. The engine bay looks exactly the same as a DX so i would think it would, but i was wondering if any of you knew.

Honda didnt make too many of those models. And sorry to say but anyone thats into performance doesnt want that car because that car was designed to especially save gas.

 

I have one since new, its a 97 with a manual. A lot of parts are similar to the EX but they are more unique parts just for HX. There is demand for the stock alloy wheels.

I have an HX and it's somewhat modded with a Weapon R short Ram, strut tie bar, short shifter, catback, silicone hoses, M3 style power mirrors - and this weekend I will put NHT powder coated calipers on it. I also have Baer Crossdrilled slotted rotors, RACTIVE coilovers,and EBC green stuff pads not installed yet. I'll put Wincos tint on it and a Viper 5900 also.

I have manual and it gets 42.5 weekly mpg.

 

i have a 99 civic hx, cvt as well. got it for gas mileage also. For intakes the ex ones would fit perfectly. i have aem myself.

 

Would you want to get rid of the stock wheels on your hx.

 

Keep watching ebay auctions for HX wheels. I saw 4 go for around $450 I think!
