but i don't want to learn
why not? you really don't know what you are missing.

i used to have an auto civic. (98 DX) it was a great car, nothing wrong with it...didn't take the best of care of it and wore it down after a while. good care and that thing would've lasted a hell of a long time.

i am a terrible driver already living in an area of Little Saigon. Very dangerous road conditions, so many pot holes and jay walkers and old people who don't obey the traffic laws. My parents actually banned stick driving in our house hold ever since my uncle drove his car into a house years back.

i have had both, auto and stick. i think it all depends where you live becuase if there's a lot traffic it just gets annoying shifting but if you live in the suburbs like me stick is better in my opinion

My civic is auto, I like it well enough. When I got it was going to be my car for back and forth to work with lots of stop and go and heavy traffic. Due to that I went with auto. Now after making the decision to get my truck fixed for the daily work driver, I'm kicking myself for not getting a manuel.....I love to drive stick, it's what I first learned to drive....anyone interested in an auto... Really though I love my auto civic, I would just like it that much more if it was manuel.

Psh I'm a girl and I only drive manuals. I didn't have a choice in the matter. My father FORCED me to drive only manuals while I had my permit. First time I drove an auto I flipped cause yeah... I couldn't shift, couldn't clutch kick it... truly horrifying. :P I refuse to drive autos if Ihave the choice. I'd probably rather bike than buy a car thats an auto.I'm attempting to force my boyfriend to learn how to drive a stick, but not in my baby....

Still, automatics aren't bad, you loose a little bit of power, but its barely noticable. Tell her to go for it.

Yes! Its so freaking boring. I'm much more prone to get intoan accident when I drive an auto just 'cause I had A.D.D. and I loose interest in driving so freaking quickly.
