Thanks for taking my questions. I am seriously considering a 2010ish Honda Civic Coupe EX and I have some general questions. I need (Safety, Reliabiltiy, Efficency (MPG), and Low Aquistion Cost) and the Civic seems to fit this bill decently.

1. How on earth can the auto tranny get better mpg's than the manual, it used to be the opposite?

2. I need to haul a Little giant ladder (4.7' x 2'). With the back seat folded down, how deep is the trunk (back of front seats to back of the trunk)?

3. I also need to be able to buckle the ladder down, would this be possible with the 60/40?

4. The SI looks more fun, but gets worse mpg. Which as you can see is important to me. How boring are these to drive? I was thinking about getting the manual to keep it interesting, but it gets worse mpg's. Thoughts?

well if you want performance you want the si it has a k20z3 motor that has 197hp and 137 pft iunno about the ladder i have never seen anyone carry a ladder in it but it should work somehow. but if you can get the si its a little worse on gas but its wayy more fun. the ex has a fuel saving vtec i think and the si has a vtec that consumes more gas when it engages but its wicked sounding. hope this helps
