Sinnerjex: By coincidence, I had an installer bring in a set (4) of Audiobahn WA1200N speakers today for me to repair. All were new last week and now all 4 are blown. The owner said he could not get them loud enough, so he kept cranking them up. The spiders are so stiff on these speakersthat any more than 200 watts or so is wasted. You can crank all you want and they won't get any louder. They will blow though....

My advice to folks looking for car audio speakers: You get what you pay for. Although I found lots of ads for Audiobahn speakers, I could find no critical reviews in the car audio magazines. That should tell you something.

HELL NO the audiobahns dont cost that much!!!!!! maybe what... thier like 36inch version that sucks *****.LOL

i bought them all the time ruffly 8-10years ago ALL THE TIME... i always paid like 75bucks... or 150bucks for thier beter/decent subs.... and i went thru them alot!!!!!! just like crapy power acoustic amps! i burned up 5 power acoustic amps within 1 year! all new BUT one... which was repaired.... 4of them SMOKED OUT A FATTY... and the 5th just stoped working! on smoke nothing visably burnt.... after all of that ill never buy another power acoustic amp in my life!!!! i switched back to lanzar amps for awhile... those things would not die!

tho with your DB ratting.... is that new or old mic metered? from what ive heard the old termlabs where preaty high and the new ones seem preaty low.LOL

i only did like 140db with 2 15s and 2500watts rms in my truck BUT my radio was jacked up... i didnt know that until i bought my double din that i have now.LOL so im sure i coulda got ALOT higher score if i replaced the HU... that realy pissed me off. ive been runnen that headunit for 4years now and thats why ALL of my systems havent sounded or metered that loud! talk about a kick to the nuts!

for those of you who want a decent sound go with alpine component type s speakers to your front and alpine 6x9 type r in the back. or go with all type R alpine speakers and power them up withan alpine amp. trust me, i helped my friend with this setup and you wont be disappointed at all. he also has 2 12' alpine typer R subs estimated at 1500w peak power and 750rms. with that he has a kenwood 1800w amp mono amp. he has the subs wired in series. They sound reallll good.
