Arrow is this a good deal? 97 EX

okay I realize you guys get these all the time and you can't give much of an opinion without seeing the car but bare with me. This is my first time buying a civic and I have about 2000 cash to work with,

the suspect:

1997 Civic EX sedan (what I've been wanting)
5 speed
AC
power everything works
new tires
after market cd player/amp
good interior
decent exterior (bubbled tint scratches ect)

the debbie downer is that its pushin almost 190 thousand miles.

the guy is asking $1800

is this a good deal? I'm sure I could probably talk him down a couple hundred maybe, I'm supposed to go check it out this evening but in his words it is an "excellent running" car. which I NEED because I have to travel 60 miles back and forth to school twice a week

any thoughts are appreciated

Check the timing belt/water pump service records as I would be looking to replace them every 90,000-100,000 miles.

Check maintenance records. If the records are up to date and the car has had regular oil changes etc, it seems to be a good deal. Hondas run forever is well kept. I have ~185,000 on my motor. It has been supercharged for the past 20,000 miles and I drive 40 miles total for work Mon-Fri. Just stay on top of things, and the car will treat you well.

Without seeing the car myself, I would offer ~1500 and go from there.

damn good car, doesnt burn any oil and trans shifts great. car now has 218,000 and ive only had to buy 1 tire, 1cv axle, brake pads, oil change, alt belt.

and its only been a few months that ive owned it oh and now has a dent in the hood from a man that backed into it, and his insurance company paid me $1,500
