I own a TomTom One. Works amazingly. Roads here in jersey were designed by a three year old.

No kidding. My job took me all over the country, and the Eastcoast roads can be downright silly. Norfolk VA was pretty bad with curves and tunnels, but southern Jersey started off with all of these turnoffs on the right...just to make a left turn. The topper was when we found a T intersection that DIDN'T ALLOW A RIGHT TURN. This wasn't onto a 1-way street either. WTF?

My GF and I have a Garmin Nuvi. It has way more features than we need, and takes a little longer than some of the more upscale Garmins to route/reroute, but it generally works fine in the US and we can download/buy additional software for waterway charts, overseas mapping, foreign languages, etc. We can also use it outside of the car.

I don't like the cheap units that only hold maps for 3-4 states at a time. I'd rather have a unit that can store the whole US in one go, with periodic upgrades being easy.

Dell E1705 17" laptop powered by an auto adapter PS and Microsoft Streets & Trips 2007 with GPS. I use a Holux GPS USB dongle. Gets me everywhere, maps out directions, computes miles and projected fuel costs, and lists sites of interest. I'd say this is the best GPS solution!
