Default gutting out my 2000 si

how much am i going to save by gutting out the back of my car? is it enough to even notice and go through that hassle of not having back seats or is it just something to do so people go "damn he is a true street racer" because i don't care about that. thanks for any advice. oh yeah also taking out the a/c unit completely, will save save weight too? if i did both will i get better accel?

with no weight in the rear, your weight distribution will be thrown off slightly, with the ac compressor removed, it will free up some power, but nothing too noticable compared to the comforts you're losing

agreed...or if your a/c doesnt work....and you dont plan on fixing it..mid as well take it out...i heard the ac compressor weighs a few pounds...plus the pipes, fluid, and the exchanger (radiator like thing...i dont know what its called exactly) so you will free up like 15 pounds maybe...and a little bit more power but nothing to noticable...and EJ, a/c isnt jesus, i havent had A/C for two years now and im not all that bothered, but some days i do wish i had it....man i need to get it fixed. also, my paps has went 65 years with no ac....well, one truck has it but hes only used it twice....so...not every one couldnt go without it.

i like my a/c, i'd never take it out to lose weight, i think if this is your daily driver you'd regret not having A/C when summer comes.

It is not even close to practical to take out the a/c where I live in austin, texas. I'll take my a/c in the 110 degree summer average

yah i live in arizona and have gone through summer w/outa/c because i used to run a 91 thunderbird super coupe that the a/c never worked (probably because it was american) and i do not really want to go through the back and *** sweat again unless it was a big time difference. thanks for all your support and responses. a/c stays and backseats... not sure yet!
