Well it is all opinion, and what are all of these extra options not available with the EG?

by option i mean like the interior of the car my friend has a 95 civic si and he did the inside of his car and alothough it look nicethe inside of the car still look old. i think is mosly due to the dashboard the way it shaped. but on the EK series the dashboard is biger alowing u to do more modification and put moe stuff on there .like In dash tv/navigation.. also u can do cluseter swap on the EK series. i mean its not a lot of option but the EK interior just look way better than the EG interior. that just my opinion tho

the fifth and sixth gen's are both great options

if you go fifth gen, go with a 92-94, because the 95 introduced some safety stuff that made the weight of it only like 20 lbs. less than the sixth gen 96 civic. The advantages of the fifth gen's would be slightly less weight, the sixth gen's would probably be a little nicer.

Both are great options for modding, pretty eequal support.

why would you buy a car with less safety features? even if it does add some weight. you don't see everyone gutting their doors, removing air bags, removing seatbelts just to lose a little weight. if you want less weight, then go do some push-ups and cut back on the bacon for a bit.

Sorry man, you make a great point. Just from the purpose of trying to build a fast hatch, a lot of people try to reduce weight. But that is very true. Just pointing out some interesting facts I had seen.
