Default Help!!

I ahve a 1992 Honda Civic....and I bought 17" rims for it, but it seems that the tires are too big. I lowered my Mazda...but on the Honda I want to raise it 2". Any ideas? Hopefully ones where I wont have to change the struts and springs...again.

Your talking about raising the car up? i know them as knuckles, but they have another name, you put them on the spring and screw them till they reach the desired hight you want. They have them in automotive stores.

just spend the money on 205/50 tires. Trust me, a civic with a body kit raised 2" is going to look re-f******-diculous. With 205/40-17's, it'll fit just fine (unless you're lowered, in which case you might have some minor rubbing issues).

For a '92, 205/40-17s are the size of tire you want. You'll also want rims with the correct width and offset to tuck the tires into the fenders without rubbing the suspension or wheelwells. You should be able to fit this size of tire even with a 2" drop.

Most people wouldn't raise a Civic unless it was an AWD and/or rally car. If you're really set on raisng your Civic, do NOT use a cheap method of doing it. You will create a dangerous vehicle if you don't use springs, linkage, and/or bracketsspecifically designed to raise the vehicle...and then have it aligned properly afterwards. Raising the car will change the camber.
