Default How to change heater panel lights

My 96 Civic DX HB heater panel lights don't work. It has an aftermarket radio installed and I wonder if the installation did something to the heater panel lights. The A/C, Recir, and selector buttons all light up and work correctly it's just the heater panel lights used at night to be able to see heat & fan selection that don't work. Any help appreciated. Should I take to Honda dealership for this?

My 96 LX has the same thing going on, aftermarket radio and all. I'm assuming that the bulbs behind the panel are burnt, and am getting ready to try to replace either with LEDs or Xenons (Like I have on my license plate). Should be an easy fix, I'll let you know. Any time we can avoid the dealership, the better!

If you pull the console out, that piece is removable. There are 3 or 4 bulbs on it. That's all I remember though

Also check your cluster lights. Its rare that the console lights burn out, expecially all at once. If your cluster lights are out too, you may just need a dimmer switch. Mine is like that aswell.

This DIY will show you how to get the HVAC panel out.

Then once you get it out, take it apart. Should be fairly easy to figure out
