i am moving to New Jersey in about a year and a half from michigan. i am going to take my ef with me as my car of choice. the only thing is michigan never had any emissions inspections, and new jersey does. what do i need to do in the time i have now to get it to pass with no problems.

its a 90 civic dx, multiport obd1 conversion, 95 D16Z6, tenzo short ram intake, and custom exhaust. it still has the original catalytic converter and stuff would a universal pass inspection???

 

no one lives in new jersey??? i just need some pointers on stuff they look for

 

I am from michigan. but those years dont have a O2 sensor do they? umm make sure your cat is working good and not broken. and all that jazz. no leaks in your gaskets not burning oil things like that I guess?

 

Does the state do the inspections? or do they require a pass certificate from state approved smog stations?

 

You should be good being you are running a newer model engine, and engine control unit that the chassis of the car. Make sure your cat is good, you are not throwing any CEL's, and everything seems to be in good working condition.

 

I've heard that adding 100% alcohol also helps, my friend's dad did it once and passed.
