i think its a d15b7 motor, i have the same, its not the best motor out their but u can do some mods if he wants a slight improvement in perofrmance, he can get catback system, intake and header, if he wants, if he has some more money he can do wut im doing and get a vtec head swap..... get either a z6 or y8 head and then boost it , or if he has money to do a full swap, id go with either a b16 or b18c (gsr) swap, thats just my opinion... im sure someone else on here can help u better

hey wassup man. I was just thinking about what you said about geeting the v-tech head. is that just like having a v-tech. and if you dont mind me asking what kind of civic do you have, and what do you have done to it know and what are your future plans.

If you ask what the best year civic is you're going to get all types of different answers.
In my opinion the 99 Civic Si was the best civic.

It's VTEC. Yes, if he swapped on a Y8 or Z6 head it would in turn give him a VTEC engine.

i agree, sweet civic, nothing like a dohc vtec engine, i have a 92 civic lx 4dr, me and ur friend have the same engine, yes like white rabbit said, once u do the full vtec head swap ull have vtec, ull just have to wire the vtec up properly, as off now i dont have to much in my civic, only performance i have is a B &m short shifter and stage 1 competition clutch..... spring break my cars going to the paint shop im getting a flamenco black pearl paint job with erebuni body kit....... as for performance im going to do a z6 head swap and then near the future perhaps boost it..... thats jsut me, search arounf ull find more info and if u have any questions u can pm me , good luck
