Default kill switch questions need answered!

Ok guys so i'm planning to put a kill switch in my 95 civic sedan lx. I'm planning to connect it to the fuel pump wire, or the main fuse (main relay i believe?), in my opinion i believe the fuel pump wire is much easier to customize, but my dad says not to touch that thing cause i might cause an explosion somehow? Basically i want your guys opinion where the best area to actually kill.

Thank you guys so much.

Connecting to the fuel pump wire won't cause any explosion. You're just interrupting an electrical circuit like any other circuit on the car.

It's good to have the car crank but not start when someone is trying to steal it. That is noisy and frustrating.
